My approach
The approach is chosen around the person, not the person around the approach
My work is grounded in a psychodynamic understanding of the person and Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy, also known as symbol drama. I add practical CBT tools and art-therapy elements only where they fit the person’s request, current state and capacity.
01
A psychodynamic foundation
A psychodynamic perspective helps us explore not only an isolated symptom or difficult situation, but also recurring ways of feeling, protecting oneself and relating to others. We consider how earlier experience may be present today without reducing your current life to the past.
02
What symbol drama is
Symbol drama is a psychodynamic method in which conversation may be complemented by guided imagery. In a sufficiently relaxed state, the person describes what appears in the imagination while the therapist accompanies the process through dialogue. An image is not separate from therapy: contact, preparation and reflection afterwards are all essential.
03
How imagery can help
An image can give form to a feeling or inner conflict for which words are not yet available. I do not decode it through a fixed dictionary or tell you what it “really means”. Together, we explore your associations, bodily responses and what the experience reveals specifically for you.
04
Contact and the professional frame
A method does not work in isolation; it works within a stable professional relationship. Clear agreements, regularity, confidentiality and the freedom to voice disagreement create grounding from which difficult experiences can be approached without haste.
05
Practical CBT tools
Cognitive behavioural tools can help make links between thoughts, feelings, bodily reactions and familiar ways of acting more visible. They may add clarity, support observation between sessions and help identify manageable steps without turning the work into another demand to “fix yourself”.
06
Art-therapy elements
Creative means can offer another language for experience when words are not enough. You do not need to be able to draw or make something “beautiful”; this is neither a test nor an assessment of artistic ability.
07
What distinguishes my way of working
The distinction is not a set of “unique techniques”. It is how I bring depth, clarity and a careful pace together: I do not use an exercise simply because it belongs to a method, and I do not take a person further than their current state, boundaries and inner capacity allow. Imagery helps some people, concrete observation helps others, and sometimes conversation is what is needed first.
08
What a session may look like
We usually begin by talking about what feels important now. We may stay with dialogue or, with your agreement, use imagery or a creative medium. Afterwards, we reflect on the experience and connect it with your life. You may stop the process at any time.
09
No ready-made solutions
I do not promise immediate change or prescribe a universal length of therapy. We return to your request over time, notice what has shifted and decide together what still makes sense. What matters is not an externally “correct” result, but a more precise understanding of yourself, your values, boundaries and choices.

Important limits
The website, articles, bot and AI assistant have informational and organisational roles only. They do not provide therapy, make diagnoses or replace individual sessions. In an emergency, contact local emergency or specialist services.
