Relationships and personal boundaries
When closeness increasingly requires you to give up parts of yourself
Closeness can be meaningful and still take too much from you when it requires silence about your needs, doubt in your own feelings or constant efforts to remain convenient for another person. Individual work can help restore contact with yourself without prescribing a decision about the relationship.

You may recognise some of these experiences
- saying no quickly brings guilt;
- you fear disappointing someone or losing the relationship;
- you often agree while wanting something different;
- after conflict, you abandon your own boundaries;
- similar painful patterns repeat across relationships;
- it is difficult to trust your own perception of what is happening.
What can be explored in therapy
- recurring patterns in close relationships;
- ways of moving closer, pulling away and protecting yourself;
- fear of conflict, rejection or loneliness;
- your needs and your right to disagree;
- personal boundaries and remaining yourself within closeness;
- recovery after separation and trust in your own feelings.
What the first session is like
We look at the situation from your perspective without deciding from a distance what another person thinks or what diagnosis they may have.
- you describe what currently feels most difficult in the relationship;
- we clarify what repeats and what you would like to understand more clearly;
- we discuss boundaries, expectations and a possible format;
- you decide whether the contact feels right, without an obligation to continue.

How I work with relationship concerns
A psychodynamic approach can make recurring ways of building closeness, experiencing distance and protecting yourself from pain more visible. We explore attachment, needs and boundaries without prescribing the “right” way to act with a particular person.
- attention to your experience rather than diagnosing a partner;
- respect for your right to stay, step away or remain uncertain;
- imagery or practical tools only with your agreement and where they fit the concern.

Frequently asked questions
Does my partner need to attend?
No. This is an individual format focused on your experience and your ways of being in relationships.
Will you tell me whether I should leave?
No. I do not make that decision for you. We can explore feelings, needs, boundaries and the possible consequences of different choices.
Can you diagnose my partner from my account?
No. Diagnosing another person without meeting and assessing them is not part of this format.
What if there is an immediate threat to safety?
If life or safety is under immediate threat, contact local emergency or specialist services. An ordinary consultation is not emergency support.
Does individual work mean that the problem is only with me?
No. An individual format does not place all responsibility for the relationship on you. It allows us to look more closely at your feelings, boundaries and what you can genuinely influence.
What if I feel ashamed of decisions I have made in relationships?
You do not need to justify yourself or prove that you made the right choice. We can explore with care the circumstances, needs and values behind those decisions.
How many sessions will it take to understand what to do next?
This cannot be determined in advance, and I do not make the decision for you. The first session can help clarify the situation and establish a manageable pace for the work.
Next step
Closeness does not require losing yourself
You can begin with one situation that repeats or leaves you doubting yourself. The first contact is a way to clarify the format, not to make a decision for you.
